Elevated Spa Deck, Andrew Park Drive

Andrew Park Drive, Raglan — Completed November 2025

The project

Andrew Park Drive sits high above the road. The owner wanted a deck at the back of the house big enough to take a spa pool — set five metres above ground level, which is where the brief got interesting.

A spa pool full of water and people is a serious load. At that height, on that gradient, the structure needs proper engineering — substantial posts set into concrete, bracing throughout, and joists sized to carry the spa long-term, not just the day it goes in. The hardwood decking and the timber privacy screen behind it tie the whole thing visually back to the house.

Build ran around six weeks. We’re just waiting on the glass handrail to land — once that’s installed, the deck is ready for use.
